I first made these rollups for a Christmas party, and they were an instant hit with everyone!

Ingredients

  • Bread: 8 slices soft white sandwich bread crusts removed
  • Cheese: 8 slices cheddar cheese (or your preferred melting cheese)
  • For Cooking: 3 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • Optional for Serving: 1/2 cup marinara sauce or tomato soup warmed

Instructions

Step 1:
Flatten each bread slice with a rolling pin until thin.
Step 2:
Place one cheese slice on each slice of bread.
Step 3:
Roll up each bread slice tightly around the cheese pressing to seal the edge.
Step 4:
Brush the outside of each rollup lightly with softened butter.
Step 5:
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Step 6:
Place rollups seam side down in the skillet Cook for 23 minutes per side turning until all sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Step 7:
Remove from skillet and let cool slightly.
Step 8:
Serve warm with marinara sauce or tomato soup for dipping if desired.
