# What You’ll Need:
→ Filling
01 - 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
02 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
03 - 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - Pinch of salt
→ Quesadillas
06 - 4 large flour tortillas (8-inch)
07 - 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated (about 150 grams)
08 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for cooking)
# Step-by-Step Guide:
01 - Melt 1 tablespoon unsalted butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 6 to 8 minutes until apples are tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
02 - Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Place a tortilla in the skillet and evenly sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over one half. Top with half of the caramelized apples, then fold the tortilla to form a half-moon shape.
03 - Add a small amount of butter to the skillet. Cook the quesadilla for 2 to 3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining tortillas, cheese, and apple filling.
04 - Transfer cooked quesadillas onto a cutting board. Allow to rest for 1 minute before slicing into wedges.
05 - Serve the quesadillas warm, optionally drizzled with honey or accompanied by a side of sour cream.
