# What You’ll Need:

01 - 1 cup green cabbage, chopped
02 - 1 cup kale leaves, stems removed, chopped
03 - 1 small cucumber, peeled and chopped
04 - 1 stalk celery, chopped

→ Fruit

05 - 1 green apple, cored and chopped
06 - Juice of 1 lemon

→ Flavorings

07 - 1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
08 - 1/2 cup cold water, optional for blending

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Wash all produce thoroughly under running water. Peel cucumber, core apple, remove kale stems, and peel ginger. Chop all vegetables and fruit into uniform pieces for consistent processing.
02 - Feed cabbage, kale, cucumber, celery, apple, ginger, and lemon juice through the juicer in sequence. Stir the extracted juice well before serving.
03 - Add cabbage, kale, cucumber, celery, apple, ginger, lemon juice, and water to blender. Blend until completely smooth, approximately 1-2 minutes.
04 - Pour blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve or nut milk bag to remove pulp and achieve desired texture consistency.
05 - Transfer juice to serving glasses and serve immediately over ice if desired for optimal nutrient retention and flavor.

  • It uses vegetables you probably already have wilting in your crisper drawer and turns them into something that makes you feel instantly virtuous.
  • The ginger gives it a warm kick that keeps it from tasting like lawn clippings, which honestly was my biggest fear the first time.
  • You can make it in under ten minutes even if youre half awake and desperately need something healthy to counteract last nights pizza.

  • Ginger is powerful and will absolutely dominate if you get carried away, so start with less than you think and taste before adding more.
  • If youre blending instead of juicing, dont skip straining unless you genuinely enjoy drinking what feels like liquid salad, which some people do but I am not one of them.
  • This juice is best consumed within 15 minutes of making it because the nutrients start breaking down and the color goes from vibrant green to something that looks like pond water.

  • Freeze your cucumber and apple beforehand if you want an ice-cold juice without diluting it, which I started doing during summer and never looked back.
  • Run a piece of apple through your juicer last to push through every drop of that precious green liquid and clear out the machine.
  • If the juice tastes too bitter, you probably left the kale stems in, so be ruthless about removing them next time.
